Dr. Johnson was born in Waco, Texas in 1968. He attended school from
K-12 in Jenks, Oklahoma, a suburb of Tulsa. Upon graduating from high
school, he attended Southwest Baptist University where he met his wife,
Mashella. They married two years later, and moved to Kansas City where
he attended Cleveland Chiropractic College. They moved to Derby in 1992
because Mashella was born and raised in El Dorado, Kansas and they both
wanted to live near family. They have two beautiful daughters, Sarah,
born in 1994 and Hannah, born in 2004.
Dr. Johnson’s decision to become a Doctor of Chiropractic was made
after seeing the positive results he received from chiropractic care
following a head-on motor vehicle collision in 1987. He tries to get
one adjustment a week to help him maintain mobility and keep his spine
and nervous system as healthy as possible.
On the weekends, Dr. Johnson travels with his family to Christian Music
Festivals and provides chiropractic care to the artists and crew. His
ministry, Backstage Care, was started in 2004 when he was asked to
provide care at the Billy Graham Crusade in Kansas City. Seeing a need
for providing care at that event encouraged him to offer his services
to other events and festivals.
Dr. Johnson is a member of the Kansas Chiropractic Association, the
Derby Chamber of Commerce, and previously served as a City Councilman
in Derby from 1994 to 1998. His favorite part of practice is seeing
patient’s improve their health and well-being naturally with regular
chiropractic care.
